Kożuch is a Polish band that combines the fascination of folk repertoire with inspirations that flow directly from the rural masters of old, with plenty of sensitivity, spontaneity and extraordinary energy. They play traditional music from the heart of Poland, from the vicinity of Lodz, surrounded by many rich and diverse musical regions (Łęczyckie, Łowickie, Opoczyńske, Rawske, Sieradzkie). Among the guides in their musical journey one should in particular mention: violinist Tadeusz Kubiak with his band and the harmonizer from the Łęczyca-Łowicz borderland Slawomir Czekalski, playing in the band Dobrzeliniacy. Kozuch often search for inspiration in old recordings of traditional music.
They are laureates of many awards and finalists of a number of competitions – “Baszta” Award in the category o reconstructed folklore at the 46th Festival of Folk Bands and Singers in Kazimierz, 2nd place in the Old Tradition contest, Grand Prix at the Polish Radio Folk Festival “Nowa Tradycja”.
