Żniwa

A few words about the artist

‘Żniwa’ is a married couple of multi-instrumentalists, Skjere and Raido. They play primarily neo-Celtic, Slavic and Nordic pagan-folk, inspired by old music, ancient beliefs, legends and fantasy. This is eminently danceable, upbeat, lively music, to which you will dance both standard balfolk dances (chapelloise, cercle circassien, waltzes, mazurkas, an dro, kost ar k’hoat and many others) and improvise. The band uses only acoustic instruments, and the number of them on stage is truly impressive – they will play the Romantic lute, five-string fiddle, didgeridoo, drum, Irish, transverse and aliquot flutes, harp, Scandinavian bass tagelharp, and Skjere will sing.

Over the past few years, Żniwa has performed with some of the biggest stars of the Polish folk and pagan folk scene (Percival, Zywiołak, Kosy, Lysa Góra) and played on international festivals (like Cernunnos Pagan Fest in France). Their music covers both romantic, nostalgic notes and moves into dynamic, lively, sometimes polka-like sounds. Above all, Żniwa creates a unique atmosphere on stage, which will also inspire those who dance to their music.
