The musical tradition of Poland’s northeastern borderlands, the confluence of Ukrainian, Belarusian, Polish or Lithuanian cultures, creates an intriguing world for the singer. The otherness of harmony, language or polyphony absent in Polish song attracts. I have been looking at these worlds with fascination for many years. The workshop will be an opportunity to share songs from those regions, especially those connected with the spring traditiona, so important in the rituals of the region.
