Valentin Barray

A few words about the artist

Valentin Barray is a French pianist and composer. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in performance from the Royal College of Music in London with highest grades. He has won many national and international competitions, including First Prize in the Kingdom of Music Competition and First Prize in the Royal College of Music Contemporary Music Competition. He is the winner of the Claude Bonneton International Competition.

Valentin has had the opportunity to study with distinguished pianists, and has expanded his repertoire to include jazz, among other things. He has performed at venues such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Opéra de Rouen, the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, the V&A Museum in London and the Ruse Opera House in Bulgaria.
He recently released his first album entitled “Mirages,” which includes his own compositions inspired by traditional melodies.

Valentin has given numerous solo concerts, totaling more than 150 performances throughout Europe, including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the UK, Bulgaria and Poland. He has performed at leading European balfolk music festivals, such as the Boombal Festival, Grand Bal de l’Europe, Saint Gervais d’Auvergne, Son Continu, Damada, Cadansa and Marsinnes Folk Festival.

Among other things, Valentin composed and produced the music for “The Restless Sea,” a music video shot on the beach in Etretat for Poz Music. He also created the music for the music video “Je suis une Mazurka.”
